Help Save Landmark Arts Centre | ‘Landmark Art 25’ Online Art Sale
Twenty-five years ago this May, the Landmark Arts Centre was created, bringing new life to the derelict former church of St Alban. It was the culmination of a ten year campaign by local people to save this unique building as a community arts space for future generations.
To celebrate they had planned an action packed summer programme. And then along came a virus. Along with everyone in the UK, it is having a profound impact, everything had to be suspended, indefinitely.
Being a charity operating within the income generated from the activities they provide and receiving no external core funding the effect upon Landmark’s financial state has been considerable and immediate.
Now, on their 25th Anniversary, the best present would be the assurance they’ll be able to survive and open their doors again.
“A cornerstone of our programme over the past 25 years has been our art fairs and exhibitions and last weekend would have been our Spring Art Fair. So we are delighted to announce that you can still see and buy some fabulous artwork and support both the artists and the Landmark at the same time.
Starting on Sunday 24th May, 25 artists will be offering work for sale via our Landmark Art Fairs Instagram and Facebook pages. For every artwork sold the Landmark will receive a minimum donation of 25% of the sale price. So check out the work on offer and brighten up your lockdown walls!” - Abigail Thomas, Visual Arts Curator Landmark Arts Centre
