”This work has about 90 layers as it builds depth in colours and textures.

How was it created?

Using traditional painting techniques such as watercolour, oils, impasto, etc. applied by means of a computer. First of all large blocks of colour are put down with the brush tool. The background may be completed at varying points in the process depending on the painting. In other words, I get to it when I feel like it.

A wider range of colour variations is added using smaller strokes of the brush tool. Smudge and blur are used to blend brushstrokes and diminish graininess. Smallest details are added using texture brushes and final adjustments to colour and contrast are made.”
